#3)     Safe Community – Public Safety The Hawley Police Department is made up of 4 Full-Time Police Officers and a volunteer Reserve Unit. The Police Department strives to focus on community-oriented policing, by having its members be involved with community events and perform many duties that keep Hawley citizens safe.   The Hawley Area Fire District has 26 trained Fire Fighters and top-notch equipment to keep our lives and property safe.  The Hawley Emergency Response Team is on-call to respond when needed to assist and stabilize patients until the ambulance arrives.

#8)     City Services – A real person answers the telephone when you call.  The City of Hawley is your Community-Owned Utility, proudly serving the City of Hawley since 1909 with Municipal Electric, Natural Gas, Water, Sanitary Sewer, Storm Sewer, Garbage, Airport, Off-Sale Liquor Store, and Motor Vehicle Deputy Registrar Office for vehicle and DNR work.   We are working to provide dependable service, upgrades to the system and to keep Hawley’s rates as reasonable as possible.  Hawley has worked to bury the electrical distribution lines and to make continuous upgrades to the electrical system.  Hawley’s iron removal plant provides clear and great tasting water for our residents.  Hawley’s infrastructure has been well maintained and upgraded to include: wells, water treatment plant, sewage ponds, gas plant, and electrical substation.
